In this day and time is there any reason why anyone would want a single speed, single capacity heating and air conditioning system in their home? Think about it: your lights are zoned, your plumbing is zoned and your automobile has speed control. I know these are some bizarre examples but I just want you to think what a zoned heating and cooling system could mean for you. Do you like to sleep cool? If so, why cool the entire house? Does the lady of the house complain that she’s hot while getting ready to go out, while she’s standing there with a 5,000 btuh hair dryer aimed at her head? Just kidding but… Are the kids gone? So zoning makes sense from a comfort point of view as well as an energy consumption point of view. That’s something to think about.
